NEW MEMBER INFORMATION

To receive electricity from Western Iowa Power Cooperative (WIPCO), you must first apply for membership. As a member-owner of the cooperative, you have a say in how your organization is run. Your voice is represented by elected board members—your neighbors—who make decisions that directly impact the cooperative and its members.

As a member, you also share in the cooperative’s success through capital credits. These are returned to you based on the amount of electricity you purchase from WIPCO, typically distributed on a 20-year cycle.

In addition to reliable, clean, and affordable electric services, WIPCO offers a variety of benefits and programs to members. For detailed information, be sure to review our new Member Handbook, which includes sections on:

  • Our board of directors

  • The seven cooperative principles

  • Power outages and safety tips

  • Payment options

  • Understanding your electric bill

  • Member perks and rebates

  • Member services and assistance programs

  • Key statements and procedures

  • Articles of Incorporation

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. We're here to help you get the most out of your membership!
